Barrier Island Bikes is proudly local to Beaufort and its Islands. And we are passionate about preservation while still sharing the natural beauty, rich history, culture and laid-back lifestyle of the South Carolina coast.
We created Barrier Island Bikes to help visitors and locals experience the islands in a more memorable and immersive way. Our electric beach bikes combine comfort, performance, and convenience—making it easy for riders of all experience levels to enjoy scenic coastal adventures without the stress of traffic or parking.

Find the Perfect Ride for Your Lowcountry Adventure
At Barrier Island Bikes, we offer comfortable, reliable, and easy-to-ride e-bikes designed for exploring these coastal barrier islands of South Carolina with ease. Here are some special reminders while renting our bikes.
***Our single day rate is $90 USD/day/bike to include bike, bike helmet, bike lock and charger for a days rental/adventure (a days rental begins upon receipt of bike until the following day - 24 hr period).
***Security Deposit Required to be re-imbursed upon rental return
***Rent an e-bike for 6 days and the 6th day is free
***Bikes are required to be fully charged at time of pick up as they are rented back out immediately.
***Please leave battery locked in place when rinsing or washing bikes off
***Never ride rentals in the surf or through salt water
-All of our bikes have a carriage rack above rear tire but we still recommend bringing a backpack for a change of clothes, phone, sunscreen/bug spray and other personal items you may need for your days adventure.
-All renters must be a minimum of 18 yrs old and must have a valid drivers license. We will need a copy for every rider.
-Delivery and return point shall be the same point unless other arrangements have been made.
-Due to corrosion from saltwater and fine sand, bikes must be rinsed off after every adventure. Please take time and rinse your rental bike off after every trip to help keep them in excellent condition for you to use on your next adventure with us.
-We ask that our bikes remain on land.
-There will be a security deposit to be put on hold at time of rental to be fully refunded once bike is returned, checked out for any damage or missing items.
-Locks are provided. We encourage you to lock your bike when not in use to prevent theft. Everywhere, even at home.
*You will be charged full replacement cost of any bike and/or any accessory that is lost due to theft during your rental period.
